Panthers selected to play in all-star games
Melvin
Meggs (OL 6'3,315) and Chad Thorne (OL 5'11,285) have both been
selected to play in post-season all-star games. Meggs in the 23rd
Mississippi/Alabama All-Star Classic on Dec.12th at Ladd-Pebbles
Stadium in Mobile. Thorne in the 61st Bernard Blackwell North &
South All-Star Classic on Dec.19th at Milner Stadium in Gulfport.

The
Panthers got back on the winning track by defeating the Hawks 27-0.
Jason Travis scored an a 60-yard punt return and Terry Davis scored
from three-yards out. While Maverick Parson rushed for 103 yards on
22 carries and added a TD.

Constuction
of the new on-campus Panther Stadium has begun. The $7.7 million,
8,500-seat facility will include artificial turf and new fieldhouse.
The projected finish date is the August 2010 season-opener vs South
Panola.

Pinkston, former Southern Mississippi and Philadelphia Eagle wide

school board voted unanimously to approve the funding for the new
football complex. The $7.7 million project will include an 8,500-seat
stadium with 3,000 chair back seats for season ticket holders, a
